TOKYO, Aug. 26 (AP) - (Kyodo)Truck operators across Japan will launch a series of nationwide protests on Tuesday demanding the central and prefectural governments take measures to help them cope with rising fuel costs.
Among the measures the Japan Trucking Association has demanded are cuts in expressway tolls and diesel delivery tax imposed by prefectural authorities. The association represents about 51,000 truck operators, or about 80 percent of all truck operators in Japan.
