Wow... what a small internet....

Yep...thats me. I have not hung out there as much as usual as I am on here reading and researching alot.... I also got tired of all the stupid questions in the "Internal Engine" forum....like....

"what cam do you think I should get"
"My heads are milled 30 thousands and my duration is 24x...do I need to flycut...and what size pushrods do I need....."

I certainly DONT claim to know it all, but a little time spent researching can pay big dividends.

Even better is that I drove it home!

It had a big ugly rotting camper on it that I gave to an uncle who was living on the front seat of his F-250.

I've put a starter, battery, glow plugs and new fuel return lines in it, no other repairs needed. Pretty good for the first two years of owning it!

 

I won't pass on a two lane road either. Not that I don't want too, but my truck is governed at 65, and can't accelerate fast enough to pass in most places.

 

Some none english speaking lady did this to me in minneapolis. I managed to stop quickly enough that my bumper JUST barely touched hers, while laying on the air horn. Funny thing is, this was open interestate, and there was nobody in front of her.

Cop came, asked what happened (I thought i was screwed, technically, i DID rear-end her) so i told him "I rear ended her." he said he diddn't see any damage, and deemed her as a "lawsuit chaser" and refused to write a report.

Probably one of the most professional, and understanding officers i've dealt with. Boy, was i relieved.

 

If you were on an interstate and she hit her breaks for no reason, she should have gotten a ticket. Sounds like it worked out though!

 

I guess she does not realize that our trucks can smash her little car with her in it.

 

The thing that bothers me the most about 4 wheelers passing is when they pass using the breakdown lane. I see this happen in Mass. I know in some parts it is legal during rush hour, but not in the middle of the night, or when there is no congestion. They don't realize how they take there life into their own hands. Then again, I never thought much about how a large truck stops or accelerates, until I became a driver. Now, after being a driver for a number of years, I know the truth. I think driver education courses should teach new 4 wheelers more about commercial trucks.

 

Here's the deal... anytime you call a cop out for ANY incident, however trivial it may be and though it may not be your fault, it WILL go on your driving record as an accident. Then, when you go to get insurance, bingo... you get to pay a lot more money.

When I moved to Alabama, I had to get my vehicles switched over to AL insurance. Of course, I told them I had no tickets and no accidents in the previous 3 years. Then I got a notice from the insurance company that my rates were going up because of an "accident". WTF???

I called my agent, adamant that I had NOT been in any accidents, and told him that the insurance carrier was on crack. He gave me a copy of my driving record which listed an accident... hmmm....

Racking my brain, I recalled hitting a deer while driving my dad's truck, almost three years previous, and close to the date they said the "accident" occurred. I had to have a police report for the insurance company to pay out to fix the truck.

I called the Livonia County Sheriff's office and sure enough, Michigan classifies hitting a deer as an accident, and it goes on your record. The report that the insurance company gets, does not list who was at fault, or even what happened... just "Accident".

Keep this in mind next time you call out a cop.
