All the spread does is get the bullseye off your back in Kansas and Nebraska. Kansas especially since you can plate for 85500 if you can axle it. With a tandem they hold you to 34 on the trailer axles which is impossible the way we load. I think cause the long middles on a tandem when it comes to big cattle they will actually haul more than a spread. That said a 3/4 jail on a spread can make that a game changer on little cattle. With it laid down you almost have another tail section. On the down side of that if you’re hauling Holsteins you gotta pick trough em to find some short ones for the tail. Personally I think a 51 ft tandem looks better than anything you can put behind one. But I run a lot of Kansas and I’m sure officer Bell still has my DL memorized.

As far as loading and unloading well if they are crazy that longer tail is that much more distance they have to catch your ### and walk a mud hole in it. It’s rare to open the belly or top and they come blowing out but I have hauled pairs with long earred mama cows that done just that. We pulled the calves off and put in the 2 noses and jail they were pissed off about it.

With a spread they also try to circle on the tail and come right back off when your loading orbit seems worse than with a tandem

Guess not. I left it unlocked with the key in it while I was gone for a week but it’s still here. Looks like I’ll have to go back to work.

Find the one who has the jury deadlocked, get that sumbi**h out of there, put me on the jury panel, and you will be found innocent so you can get your show on the road.
