Truck Pix... post yours

I have an interview later today with a company that has trucks that look like this. A Purple Volvo 860 is my dream truck!

 

Ya I’m sick of white trucks. I’m In my 4th white Freightliner.

 

Florida is a bit of a dead zone for outbound end dump freight Mike. You could probably bounce down towards mulberry for some cheap fertilizer, lake city for some cheap feed, way down south to Sarasota for glass, maybe Valdosta for some more cheep feed out of ADM, or cut your losses and get the heck out of here and find some better paying freight. Looks like I'll be heading up to Sandersville if he doesn't find anything. We load out of there pretty regularly. He has a load to Gettysburg if nothing else pops up. Glad we made money coming down because Florida hasn't changed any.

 

Better get the beard neatly pointed then, the way I keep mine, but I have a nice little lady barber to keep it in trim.

As to Volvos, you are not alone, this was the dream truck of the 1960s when they first started to flood into England. The F 89, only available LHD, it's lower powered brother, the F 88, was what you needed if you wanted RHD. This one is a later version with the plastic grill. Believe it or not, that is a sleeper cab, the first such available in UK as the unions always opposed them and manufacturers bent to their power.

yesterday's Jacksonville unload.

Had to dump out the little door, that took a while. Of course the system was old and outdated so that added to the fun.

 

I’ve been there in the past, dumping bulk glass that came down from Atlanta, i remember the loader man being a real jerk, hopefully he’s since moved on and your experience there was a bit better.

 

He was pretty cool no issues yesterday. I felt bad for the bulk tanker waiting for me to finish. That was a really sloooooow unload.

 

Spent the day hanging with friends at a local truck show.
