NO even that requires manually inputting the information into the mapping software.... google uses data collection from every mobile device connected to its servers to collect data, and update maps. Laws and restriction routes can not be collected from the mobile devices.

Your statement said "is their is no way to automatically collect", having checks and balances in place to collect that data is automatic.

You are referring to no human interaction. Which your term "automatic" can be taken several different ways without clarification.

Even Google looks at each image and blocks out faces or other types of images they do not wish to be shown, thus you still have human interaction.

    Vilhiem Thanks this.

Again no a human does not block out those images, a software program does.

Automatic, of a machine or device : having controls that allow something to work or happen without being directly controlled by a person. No there is not several ways to take it.

But you did not clarify of a machine or device. You stated "their is no way to automatically collect..." If a item is inputted a machine may automatically disseminate the information. Thus it is automatically collected at the receiving end.

That information generates into a "Tell Rand" that is send to RM the next time you Dock. It is researched and passed onto HERE and also into RM's quarterly updates.

When did map reading become an obsolete skill set?

I get srew ball directions and bad GPS directions all the time. I also go places you shouldn't go in a truck. I use GPS as a tool but I make a backup plan before I am in a really bad situation.

    stuckinthemud and Vilhiem Thank this.

A GPS will lead you astray very quickly, maps can easily be out of date as well . When I started this thread , I was hoping for a up to the minute timely information solution.

One of the other posters mentioned WAZE by Google something similar for trucker related issues might be helpful. Truckers Path ?
    Thanks

Trucker's path is a subscription service. And no service can have quick updates of government regulations and truck restriction routes, as that information has to be input manually, after the law changes.
