I recently finished truck school about two weeks ago. I went to school on a company sponsored training program through Schneider. The issue I ran into is I have a testing date next week, but neither the school or Schneider know any info about it.

Our local DMV is booked until the end of the year for testing, so they made an appointment for me in Stockton, about 7 hours from my house. I have no problem going there for the test, but neither Schneider or the school know any details.

I have been talking to my recruiter for about four weeks to get this figured out, but still no details. The school says Schneider planned everything, and basically washed their hands of it. I am not currently working and hoped to be on my to orientation by now.

Should I sit here and wait for them to figure this out, or should I look for other options? I need to get some money coming in sooner than later.

How are you supposed to test if Schneider doesn't have a truck there for you.

The issue is that you need one of their trucks to test in and someone from Schneider to drive it there? I could see that as a problem for them compared to a quick trip to local DMV. A couple of hours versus possibly two day outing. Plus who pays for fuel there and back?

I would try a sit down with the instructor and driver manager, explain your situation and ask if there is any creative way to help you test. Payroll deduction to reimburse costs? You will drive the next poor ####### for free?

Is there a Yellow Freight, YRC Freight, Reddaway, terminal near you?

That is my problem Chinatown. It is too far away for the school to help out, and Schneider set this up. It is not like I can just show up at the DMV.

YRC is about 2 hours from me. Close enough, because I live in the middle of nowhere. Haha

YRC might hire you and help you finish getting the CDL.
YRC pays around $17 - $18 hr. until you get a cdl, then you go on driver pay.
Don't know if that would work though with you living 2 hrs. away.
