You got banged 3 times over.

When I went ditch jumping fall of 07 the tow bill for two wreckers and a tow of 12 miles was some thing like $1200. Of course the weather might have had some thing to do with it. Lovely 65 degree day versus antartica conditions.

Most likely they needed to make truck payments and were coal mining what they perceived to be a deep coal vein.

Unbelievable. I take it that truck drivers play that foolish tailgate game even in the winter? If a driver had to brake to avoid slamming a vehicle in front if him, then he was following too closely for road conditions. Sloooooow dooooooown.

    "That Music"???
Classic cylinder recordings from the early 20th century,

My Own United States (2:25) Harry MacDonough (1902)
From a pink Lambert celluloid cylinder #980 from ca. 1902.

Shakey Eyes (2:11), sung by Arthur Collins from ca. 1910 on a 2-minute Indestructible cylinder record. By then, the recording quality of cylinder records had remarkably improved.

Looks to me as if the fellow (#1) with the damaged LTL bar may have caused the wreck by being the only driver operating at a prudent speed.

The first (#2) one in the ditch (as claimed of passing others) probably came around this slow truck and lost control. The silly thing is (as seen by the mud on his drives) he tried to drive out of it.

Driver #1 slowed more to rubber neck at driver #2

The truck (#4) in the hammer lane may have also been operating too fast, as the driver (#3) that came upon the slow rig and gave it a love tap. #3 then tried to move over and had the black truck (#4) slice the edge of his cab off. Alas they came to a stop and caused everyone else to have a no win situation.

Alas with #3 & 4 blocking the road I see no marks in the snow of a 4 wheeler driving around them, nor do they seem parked behind them. Where you stated you tried to avoid a car in the left lane.

Truck # 5 (yours) saw wall of truck blocking road possibly with hazards tried to slow felt you were not going to stop. Your outside wheels grabbed the soft earth and pulled you in.

Truck #6 behind you playing follow the leader had no way to know what was in front and followed into the ditch.

Truck #7 WAS slower and did not go into the ditch but did block all lanes.

    Now for the speculative part.

Truck #7 was driving slower and #5-6 were passing him at 5+mph you cleared him by a quarter mile and then found yourself in the situation your in now.

mind you this is only speculation.

Mind you I am only posting by what you show in your video.

Really, you shouldn't try to "speculate" on something you didn't see, and you should probably reserve your "speculation" on things you DO see, and just stick to the facts you know.
Short of that, you're just going to have to take my word as to what happened, because you weren't there.

I am interested in how your steering wheel felt, and when you hit the median, did you have any steering control. Looks like a lot of mud on your wheels. Were you loaded or partially loaded?

Towards the end of your ride, you were coming up the other side of the median...were you trying to keep it going straight or were you trying to steer towards the center of the median?

Once you hit the mud, did you loose all steering control?

Were you concerned about tipping the truck if you did turn the wheel much?

I am trying to learn from your experience, just in case I ever end up there.

    Thanks.
