Truck Stop DOT

Not while they're on brk I hope.

 

Usually from what I've seen its because they went after a truck and the driver though he or she would get away from them by jumping off the freeway and ducking into the truck stop. Happens at kanona ny all the time- one of those idiot Russian drivers would drive right by the rest area as if he didn't see the "3 signs"(truck inspection ahead,trucks must stop,all trucks exit), and pull into the smokey's Sunoco or pilot....only to find NYSP has troopers sitting on the side roads, and they often go to one of the truck stops for their lunch breaks... Best I can say is if you're going anywhere in that state, make sure your ##### is together.

 

I thought they would be allowed to do that anywhere. they are state cops/DOT cops after all

 

I dont think they can put you into violation .

For instance if you are on you ten break thye cant force you to break the law by returning to an 'on duty' status

DOT is sneaky .
I had one in ohio one night at a rest area and this is no #### .
He knocked on the side of my cab .

I opened the vent and asked if I could help him (very politely)

he said yea , could you come up front here please . I need to ask you a question.

I told him that I could not because I was out of hrs , and as soon as I come up fron that is grounds for a log violation. I told him I would be more then glad to answer any question he had in about 8 hrs..

That was it , and never said another word and walked away .
he knew what he was doing and well so did I. He wanted to write a HOS violation. Plain and simple. ..

 

Dude watch your language by saying idiot Russian drivers. I agree there are some idiots but not all Russians are like that. Some merican drivers are #### as well and see them every day on the road. Every nationality has stupid people, Don't say that all Russians are.

I have always been told that if you are in that front seat , well anything front of the sleeper . Technically you should be "on duty"

Correct me if I am wrong , but thats what I was informed .
