    I couldn't agree more...
That's why a lot of the time you'll see me nosed in to a parking spot so I don't have to listen to some fool idle.

I've been hit and I've seen other get hit...I always get the truck number and company name if possible and take care of it.

Hip check me and you'll wake up on the floor...

Good point, I get idiots doing that all the time. You get set up to back in and start to back and some moron will drive right behind you because he just can't wait 15 seconds for you to get in the spot!

I don't tip them...But I don't leave a mess either, I pick up my towels and put them in the sink and anything else goe in the trash can! Usually when I leave a shower it looks pretty much as clean as it did when I entered it...It's called common courtesy.

My vote for the 'best, most intelligent comment' within this thread!

We must also remember the 'special etiquette' practiced by 'gay truckers'.

    1. Have fog lights turned on 24 hours, no matter the weather.

    2. After fueling truck, leave it parked at the pumps while you go inside to eat, use the restroom, shower, and whatever else 'gay truckers' do inside of truckstops.....:biggrin_25523:

That's the bad thing about a reefer. An idler will search you out. I usually park out by myself for some peace and quiet even though I have a reefer and APU. I'm use to it because it's not that noisy. It never fails, there can be 10 open spots beside me and some noisy high idler will park beside me like he's doing others favors.

... with coffee all over you :)

I can understand the four wheeler mentality when you're just trying to get out of the truckstop parking lot.

First....I DON'T spent a lot of time in truckstops anyway. I've got a Texas/Oklahoma regional driving job and just don't need to spend a lot of time in truckstops other than fuel and the occasional meal. For the majority of the time.....I'm home every night.

Second......Sometimes I have to spend some time in truckstops for other reasons than mentioned in the first statement.

For the last couple of weeks....we've been working a well right next to the Pilot just North of Ft Worth in Alliance. We "Stage" there waiting for our turn to go to the well and unload.

I've seen drivers that are unable to back into an easy parking spot with a "Good" spotter to guide them.

I've witnessed double parking so blatant that you couldn't get around that lot completely.

I've been blocked in my parking spot by double parking trucks for 30 minutes at minimum.

You drivers that are in any truckstop "Bobtail"......don't park in an entire parking spot unless there's two of you sharing the same spot and are willing to cooperate with each other when the time comes. This leads to the habit of double parking and heated arguements.

Drivers......if you're one of those folks that aren't driving for the day......

Take a shower and wash your clothes. I can understand if you gotta hot load you gotta go and your shower might not happen every day...........

You folks just hanging out for the day at the TS don't have an excuse.

But how do you handle that when you are the only bobtail around?

I spend a decent bit of time bobtail. I appreciate truckstops that have bobtail parking or some little niche that I can get into so I don't have to take up a full spot.

If at all possible, I will not park in a long spot, but sometimes I see no other option and have to take one. However, I will at least park so someone driving by can see that there is a truck there, instead of getting their hopes up until they get ready to back up and finally see a truck hidden back there.

I do agree with you on most of these idiots who take up a spot when there are bobtail spots open, but sometimes that is the only place to park.

As a gay trucker I would be interested in hearing your explination of these two things?

I have seen straight truckers park at fuel pumps and do plenty stupid crap as well as all sorts of lights on at all hours of the day...

Come back to the forum with your comments once you get some actual experience under your belt. Don't worry as you'll be in good company, as you should well already know. Trucking is the occupation of choice for a disproportionate high number of 'gays'.:biggrin_25524:

I don't see where your comment is warrented.

I have my CDL, I have my job, I have some road time, and I have some time as a rider as well, all told probably close to 20k miles, not as much as I would like. (But not bad for 2.5 months road time) But student or not (Maybe I havent gotten around to changing that yet), I am a driver now, with a trucking job, in my chosen career. And, even if I had 0-1 1-4 years whatever, people would still say 'come back later' or whatever.

They ARE things I have seen, and my question stands on how these are things 'gays' do instead of 'some truckers' do.

And I will not 'come back' to the forum when I have some actual experiance, I have been here, will be here, and remain here, with my comments, questions, and when I can offer it, assistance.

No need to try to make what seems like a veiled attempt at a 'go away' because I wont. Now, you could explane the comments above, or you could simply leave it for someone else to, or do what many do when asked questions they dont wanna defend themself on and pretend you didnt see it.

I will listen to your experiance when it comes to things I do not understand, but I wont be told to go away by your 'road wisdom'. Nor will I hide who or what I am from people on this forum or otherwise, I was told quite clearly by a couple people to not allow it to happen. So My question remains how are these actions "Gay trucker actions" as apposed to 'dumb people' actions? or 'rude people' actions?
    Drive safe.

Ambivalence obviously blames gay people for the worlds problems. Don't let it get to you.
