    This is where tankers , hopper bottoms , expedite straight trucks ,and 1 tons with stepdecks have an advantage . They can usually find an open space an OTR driver with a 53' trailer couldn't get into . What's irritating is seeing a bobtail using a full parking space , especially 2 bobtails using separate drive thru spaces .
    You can buy a pocket size truckstop guide for under $5 . They include rest areas . Going by mile markers you can tell about how long it will get to the stop . The guides tell how many miles each interstate is in the state . If a highway is 360 miles in a state and you are at the 200 mm , you have 160 more miles in that state . A truckstop at the 80 mm in the next state is 240 miles from you and you should easily make it in 4 hours .

    Yeah, what they said;

    So, the moral of the story is

    Do we park on the East Coast - NO
    Do we park on off ramps - NO
    Do we park in big city truck stops after 5pm - NO
    Do we park in Airport Parking Lots - HELL NO

    That CRE driver was thinking outside the box. Just before going in he was thinking "Now watch! They're gonna see me, then everybody is going to start doing this!"

    Did you see the name on the truck "England"? A plane ticket anywhere was more than that driver made the last 30 days so it's highly unlikely they were going to catch a flight. Or possibly they just finished England orientation and realized they had just enough money to get a ticket home so picked up the load and hauled arse to the airport before England took that money from them. :dontknow:

    Don't park on a TN rest area onramp either. I learned that the $$$ way when I was a rookie.

    the little $3.99 truckstop guide has all you need to know to find a TS
    if I am going to be late and know where I will end up I use the reserve parking at the TA's also
    particularly in nj with very few TS's
