Truck stop low lifes

A couple years ago I took my 10 at Little America in Flagstaff. I was just sitting there minding my own business when an attractive young woman came up to my open window and said that she does in -cab cleaning. I asked her why I should pay her for something I can easily do myself in a few minutes. She said that she specialized in putting a "spit" shine on everything, and guaranteed she could reach all of those hard to reach places. I asked how much her cleaning services cost, and she said $100. I told her thanks, but no thanks.

 

the vast majority of people asking for money are drunks and/or drug addicts and they have to get money for their booze and drugs

there are always people who will let someone pull on their heartstrings

i dont engage with people who come up to me because i dont want to be bothered. i just wave them off, shake my head to indicate "no" and keep walking. its a numbers game for them and im not going to waste my time or theirs

i do give to people holding signs at intersections sometimes. i believe it is more considerate that they are generally out of the way and not bothering anyone

 

By screwing up traffic They should be outlawed.

Make them go pick up the garbage the homeless camps leave.

 

How bout the county or state set up a program to pay these homeless people to pick up all the garbage left behind on the off and on ramps, and at the truckstops?

 

The truck stops might be able to give them a meal and a shower for keeping the parking lots picked up after some of the lazy slobs keep throwing pee bottles and trash out the window instead of in the containers. The parking spaces could use re-painting too.

 

That's kind of sorta like a job, much easier to beg. No manual labor involved
