It's not that bad. There is always someone you can push out of the way with your trailer.

What ppl do when parking is full you ask, they find the nearest exit ramp. You get to the east coast andd most the trk stops are full no matter what time is it.But normally when it starts getting dark is when trk stop starts to fill up and fast. Now rest areas I would say after 8 pm they start to fill up.If you plan on camping for the night in say Dallas/Fortworth truck stops, your best bet is get their by mid afternoon.

Also On the East Coast you may have to pay to park and some companies don't reimburse parking. California has a lot of Paid parking as well.

To some extent, just try to plan as good as you can.
Some areas forget about parking after dark.

Yea planning appears to be the key. I guess I better get used to the idea of starting every day at like 5 AM so I can increase my chances of finding a spot in the evening.

Planning is of course everything. Sometimes things change up on you and you have to be ready to adjust.

This last week I was on a run all night sleep all day type deal. I was pulling in as most were heading out. It usually isn't that way for me.

I run at night mostly. Much less traffic, hassles, open coops, and when I shut down at a truck stop there are always open spots and available showers.

Another option is an industrial park. I've done that in Phoenix since those truckstops fill up by 10am.

Gotta love wanna b/rookies. You have not set time that you can start or stop. You start and stop depending on your load and if you can make delivery. Also considering your hours of service. Some companies will call you when your 10 hours is up to make sure you are rolling. This is no 9 to 5 gig. You have to be ready to roll if you have the hours. They don't care about your body's clock deal. They care about moving freight, and setting you up to be able to get the next load delivered on time. Good drivers do that themselves. They don't need dispatch to do it. So most of the good drivers who are on Elogs. will spend most of their time as close if not at the business they are picking up or delivering at. This is about making money. For me. I have to make get all the miles I can get from Thursday to midnight the next Wednesday. Its a race against the clock. That's what makes truckin so fun :)

Oh I am fully aware of all that. I am well aware of all the different times loads are picked up and delivered. I was just trying to get a general landscape of the parking situation.
