Some are nice, some aren't.
The things that annoy me are cold temps and extreme build up of nasty crud. Watch those fans, as some of them have never been cleaned since they were installed and an accidental touch will cause a cloud of dust to be blown all over the room and on your clean towel.
I don't care how hot the water is, if the tile is cold, and I mean very cold, it sucks the heat right out of you. For anyone who is familiar with how radiant heat works, this is radiant heat sinking at its finest. I find this to be very uncomfortable. Even if it is the cleanest shower available and looks like it belongs in the Ritz Carleton, if it is cold then it just makes for a very unpleasant experience.
If I can't get to a shower (or have decided to run my schedule so efficient, that it doesn't allow for it) I will bathe in the truck. I use 2 storage bins to move my stuff in and out of the truck quickly and have used an empty one as a tub that I can stand in to bathe with bottled water. I wash my hair by leaning over the tub, so as not to splash water around the truck. It works very well and is sometimes preferable to some of the places that I have seen.
I can't stand shower curtains, even in my own home (last apartment had one, current house has glass). It just gives me the willies to have a slimy sheet of vinyl cling to me as I'm trying to get clean. On the rare occasion that I encounter these bacteria culture incubators, I make sure to leave it open enough on one end to allow for air flow so it doesn't cause the curtain to flutter.
Not sure why, (I'm sure it's just psychological) but I feel so much better when I wear flip flops in a public shower. I'm a bit of a germ-a-phobe, so I am very careful not to touch anything when I'm in the shower. The very last thing that I do with the towel is dry my flip flops and place them bottom to bottom before putting them away. Once that is done that towel can't be used until it is washed. -
