That used to be a nice place when it was Sturbidge Isle. They had a nice restaurant (with a gourmet chef at one time) and a bar and nightclub that used to get some pretty good acts on the weekends. Not saying that Pilots are no good or anything, but they took something away from a few places when they took them over and closed the sit-down restaurants.

I think that Pilot has gotten rid of all the sit down restaurants in every truck stop they have purchased other than Flying J. With them they put in Denny's and that is just about as bad has not having a sit down restaurant.

Denny's is better than fast food. I do like their breakfasts, but don't care for their regular menu. I would just as soon go to Waffle House as Denny's. The food is good and less expensive unless you buy off the 4,6,8 menu and that is very limiting. Service is usually faster at Waffle house and I don't like the coffee that Denny's uses. I wish that Pilot had kept the Flying J restaurants. The food was better ( most of the time) and the coffee was much better. I suppose we should be grateful that Pilot didin't put in fast food restarants when they took over. I don't stop at Flying J much since Pilot took over. I don't see much of a reason to spend my money with them. At one time, I used Flying J as our primary fuel stop. Not any more.

    Since nobody mentioned it,,,

I found a place in Lee, MA (IIRC). I think it's the last stop on the MassPike before NY.

Can't really miss it, it's right off the exit. Now it's not much, but you CAN walk/hike into town (about 2 miles) and it's a nice little NE town if you like picturesque settings. You can get most of your usual chain fast food, but there are some nice mom & pop resturaunts in town too.

    Something different.

I know the place you're talking about. They used to have a restaurant in the old barn but they had to close it because the building was about 300 years old and in danger of collapsing.
