Anyone think that maybe that's why we fuel at Pilots and TAs?

Comdata sucks, plain and simple. They are fine for large trucking companies, but there rates are ridiculous for smaller outfits. I would love to see a lawsuit put them out of business.
My company uses TCH and we fuel only at Flying J's other than for emergency purposes or reefer fuel so we can top off when dropping a trailer. It would cost the company far more to use Comdata. -
I'm in agreement about Com Data costing too much, it costs the companies and the truck-stops, and the large truck-stops get breaks with them.
We don't use Com Data, we use EFS. I find that it is more hassle as a driver but it costs the company less, and EFS Checks are much less hassle than Com Checks. -
I have found that using TCH really isn't a hassle at all. That is all I have used besided comdata. The only places I used the checks are for lumpers when I don't have cash to cover it, and unexpected truck repairs. Generally, I have enough cash on hand to cover most of the lumper expenses though, and for those that I dont have the cash, they take TCH.
There are also enough fuel stops available now that use TCH that I don't have to worry much about finding a place to top off my reefer unit, and the Flying J's are located well enough that I have never had to buy tractor fuel anywhere else. -
I'm glad to see some of the smaller guys standing up to the big boys. The company I'm with uses T-Check, which I've never had a problem with, though they are accepted only at major stops, it seems (unless I want to physically write a check). I've heard nothing but complaints coming from drivers using Comdata, so I hope to never get saddled with it.
