I thought it would be a good idea to put our heads together and put out truck stops that are best avoided because of tight parking. I'll start with these that I know are bad (in no particular order):

    1. Love's, Tacoma, Washington
    2. Pilot, exit 99 I-5, Olympia, Washington
    3. TA, Bend, Washington (decent sized lot but still gets to be a cluster)
    4. Pilot, Troutville, VA
    5. Flying J, Winchester, VA

Some of these are larger lots but still pretty much daily become clusters. Anybody have any to add? I know I have not been to them all and it would be nice to know what to avoid. Thanks!

Flying J, Aurora, CO. I've had my truck hit twice there.

Loves in Gallup, NM. Horrible design. It has no way out! Everyone is forced to do a u-turn and behind them more keep rolling in. :)

I thought of one more that seems bad at first but really isn't. Pilot, Stanfield, OR. Main lot is tiny and only one way in and out. However, there is ample overflow parking in the "Pilot RV Park".

Pilot - Bloomsbury, NJ - I-78 X7 (Is that even officially a "truck stop"?)

It's not the amount of space that creates all the problems as much as the way the dumb ssa designers that never driven a truck in their life and are totally lacking common sense. Why in the world do they make lot designs that requires you to blind side into a space. That is what causes a lot of accidents. Some of today's drivers have trouble backing in, much less doing a blind side back.

Lot of these were built in the day of 45 foot trailers and many cabovers. They figured everybody would nose, and if the front guy was still in the way when time to leave, there was plenty of room to back out. People didn't drive as stupid then as they do today. Things have changed but the lot perimeter/size remains the same.

Also horrible design is the Love’s in Wamsutter, WY. For good laughs just sit and watch drivers file in and have to do uturns to get out. Everyone blocking each other. Better than TV!
