Truck turn over but wont start 09 Prostar ISX

Starter has a heat soak issue so once I leave out in the morning I just dont turn it off until i get home and the next morning after its cooled it fires up like new money. Yesterday, I try to start the truck it turns over but wont start. I just got new batteries in August but someone is telling me its my batteries. I have had a truck to come out and try to jump me, the battery power did get stronger but it just turned over. The mechanic tried "a little summertime" ( never heard ether called that lol) but still it just turned over. I will say from me having a slow start before when i turn the key its a strong turn over to an almost dead battery quickly when usually i could let it turn over and hold it until it catch. someone also said its a fuel issue I have a half tank and when i key on i can hear the pump running. Any particular place I should start looking first? Any help is greatly appreciated!
