My hubby has a Kenworth T600 with a 575,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty and a 500,000 mile engine warranty on the truck. He was recently broke down in Orlando. It would not shift in gear, kept coming up "Fail". Put into dealer garage. They said it was dirty connectors and wiring and a hydrolic hose needed replacing. Meanwhile the tow driver couldnt disconnect the driveshaft for tow so he cut it off. Said they replaced that part. They charged him for everything.
What I need to know is: If he has a bumper to bumper warranty, arent these things covered under it?
He is back on the road, but it still isnt shifting in gear right without stop and starting it once or twice, and he discovered they messed up his norrad. I cannot get any paperwork from the company he's leased from and they took his check to cover all the costs saying it was not covered. If anyone has a bumper to bumper please let me know.

find the warranty paperwork and see what it covers.
If this type of repair is covered, seek a lawyer.

TransAm has not given him any warranty papers. No have they given him his paycheck stubs, Health insurance papers and are refusing to give them to him by ignoring him and not responding to his messages on qualcom or by phone. They also made the garage keep his receipt for the work done and told them not to give it to him. He said if this paycheck is a 0.00 check he will shove that truck up their front doors. He said they are treating their company drivers just as bad and not giving them any miles on top of it. They wont talk to me, ive tried all I get are emails saying they wont respond to me anymore. TransAm sucks!:biggrin_25510:

unfortunatley, no paperwork = no comeback...

ALWAYS get paperwork. if people wont front it, something is dodgy.

No the garage refused him his copy. He's asked transam for his copy, and they ignore him. He called the garage in orlando this morning to tell them to send a copy to his home address for our taxes. They refused said he would have to contact transam. Now, with all *** tell me so I can him how to get his papers he needs. They refuse to talk to me, or have any contact with me at all even though hes put on his papers when he signed them that I am his partner and teammate. Im not arguing it at all, Im stating FACT. I know theres some kinda -----going on, and I think they think I know it too, and thats why hes not getting his paperwork. But we arent done with them yet. I would just rather try the appropriate way of doing it first. I dont mess around. All I asked for was some kind of help or advice first, not lectures. dad

eagle...unfortunatly without copies of the warrenty, there isnt one

30 seconds or 30 feet, whichever come first

not allowing him to have a copy of the bill is wrong, as is not showin what all deductions are for out of his settlement ( if he is leasing or buyin the truck...he no longer gets a paycheck, until after he himself pays himself....geez i hope that made sence)

my advice...get a lawyer that is skilled in the truth in leasing act(s) and sue

and next time, if there is a next time dealing with leasing/purchasing a truck....make #### sure you get copies of everything, and if they refuse...dont sign anything and walk out...i perfer to sign both mine and thier copies at the same time

honesty is the best policy in life, but not if you are a shady trucking company...guess where these fine folks fit in

why exactly did the wrecker operator have to "cut" the driveline off? all you have to do is take out 4 bolts and force the end caps off to remove the driveline....this sounds very fishy to me ( i used to run a heavy wrecker)

Good news today! Eagle One received his warranty papers today. TransAm faxed them to the pilot station where he was at. He's got the papers and has read them. So now he knows what his warranty(s) cover and dont cover. Bad news on that part, it covers the wiring, but not the contacts to the wiring. And thats what was replaced. The driveshaft was still the tow drivers doing, not marks. The driveshaft was in excellent working condition until the guy cut it off with a sawsall because he couldnt get it disconnected to tow. So Eagle One will have to deal with TransAm on that subject. They also sent him a cover sheet letting him know that the maintainace and repairs and receiepts will be mailed to him quarterly. I also received his Accident and Life Insurance policy today in the mail. But he still hasnt received the pay receipts. I dont know how that is worked out either. But he now has a file box and a notebook and it writing everything down. And keeping every reciept or a copy of the receipts for everything he spends in his file box. Live and learn. But he did say that when his lease is up if anyone ever mentions a lease to him again he will punch'em out.

if your hubby had to pay for the drive shaft call the towing company and tell them what their driver did and ask for reimbursment tell them if they do not pay willingly you will sue them for the damage and lost work.
