Just an observation, but a brake should not stick like that, even when wet, hot, salty, hungry, or whatever. I’d take close look at that brake, and I have a cup of coffee that says it is close to camming over.....

In all my years driving, I never encountered a tractor with a stuck brake as the OP experienced. Trailers all the time, but not the tractor. The only time I saw a "stuck" brake was after a tractor had been shut down for an extended amount of time. I too thought about brake camming but did not mention it. Most carriers are good about doing PMs but some are a bit lax about yanking the drums and looking at the condition of the shoes. If this brake is cammed over most likely so are the other brakes and this tractor is unsafe!

Nope. My right front drive can and will stick after a over night rain in warm climate. Same brand of shoes, and drums as the rest. But its always the right front drive. Found my fifth wheel plate drains the direction and down on axle. It has happened in less than 12 hours. Webb drums, Meritor armor guard shoes. No cheap stuff either. 80 plus degrees.

FYI - A lot of times whether the tractor or trailer, you can rock back and forth a couple of times and the brakes will release. Had to do it more than once back in the day dragging old trailers around.
