I understand.... I'm talking about the truck programming, not the ambient temperature at the time. If the ambient temp sensor reads 19 (or above) and the truck is programmed incorrectly, using a centigrade reference point instead of farenheit, it could shut off. The program parameters definietly need to be checked out and make sure the're speaking the same language.

I am quite sure it was programmed for 19.

I know another company programmed at 35.

I worked at one that would only idle for 4 minutes.

One night at 5 am the apu died and it was 19 in the truck. It would only idle 4 minutes for the next 2 hours trying to defrost it.

You're quite sure of the programming in someone else's truck? Not to pick a fight, but even with my crystal ball and 8,100 automotive lemon law cases under my belt, I can't tell what their truck is programmed for.... how could anyone else?

I'm recommending that they get the programming parameters checked... and if it truly is the company's intention for the truck not to idle at temps over 19 degrees... then I'd recommend a new company.

I knew someone that worked there and he mentioned it. He left so I do not know if they kept them that way or not.

Then, this thread was revived. It was several years ago.
