Hello fellow truckers ,
i have a 2000 freightliner century with detroit 60
im just now pulling out the warehouse dock in first gear, everything was normal until I tried to float in 2nd gear.
it won't pop in second and the engine revs itself , I tried 3rd gear and same, the engine just revved by itself without being in gear.
next I start in first gear and flipped high gear switch to 2nd gear an it went in gear then 3rd gear and the engine lost power as if I was in neutral .
now I'm in first gear and double clutch to 2nd 3rd and 5th without failure, all seems normal but I can't double clutch into 6th gear. High gear and so forth
What hat could be the problem? Transmission problem? Burnt clutch?
Please help, any response would be a great help

Pop off the inspection cover and look inside with a flashlight..sounds like oil on the flywheel or clutch dis c.....if thats ok...look for air leaks on the tranny lines. Andat the box...

It couldabeen over greased when u had it work on(throw out bearing)...and you got a slpry flywheel...thats my best guess without being there
-
Check fo signs of a broken spring on thepressure plate...have someone bump the starter while u look...sure wish I c ould be of more help...

post this question in the garage section. best of luck getting it straightened out.maybe whomever serviced the tranny knocked something off or it is in the splitter.prob simple repair.hopefully
