Can you get access to any fuel line after the primer to see if it’s pumping fuel? Honestly even if you can start it now it may still leak when at work, I would say it needs replacing if you can afford to do it now.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I guess that should be my step after I use a battery charger. I attempted this evening and after 5 minutes connected, it started to rain. I ended the test.
I hope that primer isn’t too expensive. Does not look to be an expensive piece. -
This whole thing is just puzzling. Nothing changed before this happened except the weather.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
That primer pump is shot. Probably sucking air, even when it’s closed. They’re know for that.

Too much will cause vapor lock, but waiting a few minutes, it dissipates, and engine will “unlock”. I’ve done that a few times. I’m sure it strips the cylinder walks of oil. Basically a very dry start, which puts wear on cylinders, rings. But the hype against ether, is really exaggerated. I’ve even ran mine on ether,to get to a fuel pump, Lol. I don’t recommend it, that was flat out abuse.

I’ll get a part number today and replace it.

Well hopefully that should be the problem, looks like it is. Sucking in air and lost prime. Just get a good charge on those batteries.
-
Ok so it's not as bad as people say.

No a little either won't hurt a thing. I've used tons of the stuff on farm tractors. To the point of way to much and it knocked like the bottom end was gonna fall out till the either burned out
