I know a mechanic that uses WD40 instead of ether.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
What’s the price of the OEM? In something like that that is not used a lot I don’t see why not if the price is right. I try to go OEM on most of the parts, I replaced a radiator with an aftermarket from the dealer because they didn’t have anymore OEM.... lasted 2 weeks and it made it from FL to CA and started leaking badly. Had to shell out 2K and replace it at the nearest dealer, at least I got the money back for the defective one. The price difference was $400 but in my opinion I don’t justify that saving. Anyway, I don’t see why not an aftermarket primer.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I've got some photos of some liners from an old 3406 that was ether addicted. Glazed right up, no crosshatch left.Rideandrepair and Newto Trucking Thank this.

I plan to drive it to the nearest cliff.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Yep I would go aftermarket like what was said your not going to use it everyday plus you can buy 3 of them for the price of 1 oem.
Rideandrepair and Gix1k Thank this. -
I hear ya!!!!!! These trucks can be a real sob!!!Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I've used that before. Supposedly its better because ether takes away the lubricating oil in the liner crosshatches. WD40 provides some lubricity.Rideandrepair and xsetra Thank this.
