While we are on the subject of education, I red-lined the error in your statement. You also missed a comma after the word 'debate'.
Pretty silly, don't you think, bringing up education or lack thereof in an article about unions?
So, back to the point, are you going to strong arm me now? Is this were I'm supposed to fall to the ground in terror of the big, bad union boy?
I'm plum rightly scared!
*snicker, snicker*
Face it, you got owned by a dozen different posters in your pro-union huff. No one here is afraid of unions and just about every one pointed out that they would cross a picket line to support their family, even if they had to smoke a lazy union turd to do it.
Unions of the past were something; they accomplished a lot for today's worker. That being said, today's unions are nothing. They are a haven for the lazy, the ignorant, and the bully. I could spend days and days pulling stories and articles backing that up in spades. And the fact that you came on here, huffing our your pro-union chest and basically leveling threats at anyone that would cross a line, adds the exclamation point.
"You do that where I live and you'll end up in the hospital!"
Really, big boy? I've heard of far more instances and read far more articles where a union boy just his ### handed to him in a dixie cup for trying to stop someone from working, than I've heard of the union boys getting the upper hand...unless of course, they were relying on numbers.
Unions don't scare anyone. Your threats are empty and hollow. Had you come on this thread trying to honestly debate a union as someone like Walleye would do, people might take you seriously. But the moment you started tossing out threats, your opinion meant jack squat.
Think about that next time.

I think when people mention the word "Union" - there are too many different ideas as to what it means and it's purpose.
Funny how many whom bash "Unions" on one hand - will sing the accolades of OOIDA, or "class action" lawsuits to promote change in the industry.
How much would have OOIDA been able to achieve without it's membership numbers and warchest from fee paying members.
On the other hand, many organized unions have given themselves a black eye with corruption, cronyism, and political activism often not in the best interest of their members - whether auto workers or pro atheletes. Protecting kindred interests, and "mediocrity" while not looking out for the greater good of the organizations providing the paychecks.
It is because of this that unions importance have diminished, and has been effectively pilloried in the eyes of the public - by those business interests clever enough to exploit these weaknesses.
I think banding together for positive change is something most people can agree on, though rarely accomplish because of wildly varying self interest.
As far as "spitting" on someone - whether union or not that is assault and that person should be punished. - spit on the ground.Twilight Flyer Thanks this. -
Twilight...I see you still have not read what I had to say so once again: I'm a non union O/O. I'm not pro or against unions. Got that yet? Please point me to a threat I've made. More hype. I said where I come from you will not cross a union picket line. I'm not trying to strong arm you in any way. I know men who would. I know men who won't let you cross no matter the cost. If your willing to pay that cost give it a try. If you think your hype will change that then keep babbling. Smoke a lazy union turd? More hype. So you pushed past a woman cashier and your proud of it? Back to my point to you: You show a basic lack of education when your answer is to dismiss a point with blah,blah,blah....................

Twilight, In order to debate a point please use facts. Just because you can type the words don't make it true. RE: your last post. If that don't fit your agenda I'm sorry. Facts are facts. The rest is hype.

Sounds like a broken record. Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself.
Or maybe you shows a basic lack of intelligence.
(Like that? I changed it up a bit) -
Just one of many times that union workers show that they think that they are better then others. If the union worker wants to picket their work place then in this free country they have the right to do this, but who do they think they are trying to tell any one else that they can't do their job? If the unions believed in a free country they would understand this system of freedom.

You mean like your claims that people that try to cross the picket line back war yer from end up in the hospital?
Note to you (just trying to help): check mirror before typing
My agenda is pretty clear. Dont think that empty threats from a pro-unionite are going to intimidate me. On the contrary, Ill toss it back in your lap with a few extra helpings.
I hate threats threats are the mark of a coward and I'm not shy about saying it. If you cant back it up, then perhaps you shouldnt even be speaking. And making threats on a messageboard is pretty lame. Id wager you wouldnt even think about mouthing off like that to someone face-to-face, particularly someone trying to work and provide for their family. And I know Im not misunderstanding you because quite a few others on this thread are seeing the same thing an internet tough guy.
Once again, Ill reiterate. If you want to be pro-union and argue FOR unions, take lessons from guys like Walleye and a couple others. Threats implied or direct are why no one takes people like you and todays unions seriously.Skunk_Truck_2590, brsims and misterG Thank this.
