    18. There is one legitimate reason to leave your truck while you are waiting behind another truck at the fuel pump. Crapping yourself is the only legitimate reason to do so. Get back to your truck ASAP.

Saw an example of this the other day as I pulled in for fuel. Guy in line left his truck when it was 3rd back from the pump. Both trucks in front fueled and left leaving a 2 truck gap and blocking 3 lanes across. It was tight in there. A fairly large angry guy stomped into the store and about 30 seconds later the absent driver came running out, jumped in, locked his door and pulled up. He didn't fuel until the other guy got in his truck and shut the door. We gave him a round of applause.

I agree with this except for 1 very rare occasion....

I drive all through the night when ever I can. If I pull into a TS for a 30 min break between midnight and 0300 and every single fuel island is empty AND there are more than 5 pumps AND there are less than 4 empty parking spots left open AND there is no other place to tuck in somewhere out of the way... In that situation AND ONLY that situation I will take my break pulled forward of the fuel island farthest from the from the stores door. But I also sit in the seat ready to move AS SOON AS another driver pulls into the pump behind me. I would rather leave the open spots for another driver that is looking for a 10 hour parking spot who truely needs it...

I very very rarely do this as I usually take my 30 in a rest area.

But as was already pointed out, if you keep leap frogging with this truck then you won't lose much time by backing off a bit and letting him get far enough ahead where you wont repeatedly catch him.

That has to do with the terrain. I mostly run in states where there are many mountains. It wouldn't just be backing off a bit. The gap would need to be significant. And as I mentioned, I only do it when under tight time restraints of bad dispatches.

You sound like the kind of super trucker who would give someone the finger for saying hello to you.

"but I over-paid for a trendy thingy. How will everyone know I follow the latest trend if I don't drive around with it turned on 24/7?"

I always enjoy the kids working at fast-food restaurants that stand at the counter like a statue instead of something polite and professional like "May I help you?" or "What would you like?" etc. Sometimes I will just stand quietly until they say something.
