Be active when you loading or unloading ,don't just sit in cab ,walk around truck inspect same time ,air bags, air lines, tires etc. Slide your trailer axels back of trailer each time you loading and unloading and then set them in proper hole after you loaded or unloaded. Every 2-3 hours stop short break on rest area and park far from restrooms don't try to be like drive in location ,walk . When you driving change position of your seat for short time, used cruise control on flat surface. You can do much for your self make your self happy and you will be. Eat lot of fruits ,less junk food .Good luck and God bless !!!!!!!

I walk around the truck stop or depending where I am at for my break I try and walk around the area instead of circling the truck stop... I have dumbbells I use in the truck... I do pushups when I go in to shower... Situps and crunches in the bunk... After awhile you will remember the truck stops that have walking paths near by or country roads with no traffic that you can walk on or jog without any interruption... Some TA truck stops have exercise rooms...

Well, I haven't started OTR yet but I can tell you what I did in Afghanistan. I was in an MRAP for a week or so at a time with a day back on base and then back out again. I did push-ups, sit-ups, dips, and any other body weight exercises I could come up with. The goal is to get the blood pumping and match your caloric intake with your caloric expenditure. I didn't have access to many fruits or vegetables. I ate a lot of tuna and chicken breast. I made sure I stayed away from sweets and fatty snacks like chips and crap like that. I couldn't really run much because of the obvious hazard of IEDs so while doing body weight exercises combine them in circuit to raise your heart rate and you'll get a little cardio in too.

I pull a Flatbed with tarps......

I get a great workout,Cardio and strength conditioning, Im almost 50 years old .....Feel GREAT..

If you pull a dry box.......bring along a couple dumbells for working your arms and shoulders......Walking everwhere you go....And checking out the truck.

DONT sit in the truck and eat sandwiches with the Playstation Game or Netflix going!
