Nope not saying that at all. I’m saying that in a driver room drivers were taking bout this incident and saying how they would’ve gone right on through the crowd etc., and management heard them and they were let go. Nothing to do with megas reading this forum although some probably do lol.

Information regarding the members of this forum are never provided to your company or anyone else, for that matter. But it would be possible for someone at a company, by going over your posts, to identify you, especially if you work at a smaller company.

If someone does driver through a crowd and people get hurt or killed, you can count on the investigators trying to find any social media posts the driver had made. And a statement like "I would run them all over" or the like would be used against them. Just something to think about, People are getting convicted a lot lately based on Facebook, or the like, posts.

not only convicted, but many others are being fired just for what they say on any social media.

people are too free with thier opinions, thoughts, on a social media outlet.

seems like "mums the word", got lost some time ago.

I'm in my 30s but I try to be as vague as possible on personal details. Regardless of generation some people are just more open than others.

People getting fired for voicing their opinion doesn't sit well with me. As far as I'm concerned if a person is professional while on the job, that is all that should matter. What a person does on their own time is their business.

If I had employees, I could care less about what they would do outside of company time.

there was once a member here, that blatantly spoke his mind. then also posted pics of his truck, which of course had the company name, as well as the truck number.

he went on and on about so much horse crap, and there he was for all the world to see and hear.

yes, HE GOT caught by his employer, and GOT FIRED.

had you been here back then, either as a member or a lurker, then you too would have witnessed that.

as it is, everyone else seems to have an "alias" and pretty much does not mention thier real names nor company they work for.

in the end, if someone spouts out at the mouth either here or on ANY social media platform, what in God's name would you really think would happen?

nearly every company in America, has some sort of stance against one thing or another, and when someone is FOOLISH enough to open up thier yapper, they violate that company's "Moral code of conduct" .

but only IF, one is so stupid, so asinine, so moronic, as to self identify and or name thier employer.

and that is the WAY IT SHOULD BE, when you are off duty.

behaving oneself while even wearing a company uniform OFF DUTY however, can get one into trouble, as while one is wearing that company uniform, even off duty, you still represent that company.

like an off duty cop. yeah, he/she is off duty, but go to a bar and get plastered, while in uniform, can be a great cause for the brass to highly discipline.

so in other words, "civilian clothing" when any off duty worker is on his/her own time.

As it should be. Represent the company positively when you "wear the uniform" but outside of that one shouldn't have to fear for their job by something as simple as having an unpopular opinion on a hot button topic.

I think a company is fully justified in firing an employee that openly states that they won't stop for a mob of rioters. Same as the employee is justified to quit if the company states that they will require all employees to stop and do as a mob asks if put in that situation.
It's the company's truck and insurance as well as #'s on the line. On the other hand it's the drivers life on the line.

Simple solution is, don't work for a company that puts their profits and assets ahead of their employees lives or don't hire someone that will put their life ahead of your business.

At will employment, luckily we are able to choose where we work or who we hire.
