But he has a right to choose the route he did, they are wrong for blocking it, period......no matter how u shape it, they shouldn't be on the Interstate, period.........

Sounds too close to "I wasn't driving I was traveling" sovereign citizen BS. Should we just go down 10 ton limit roads? How about the aforementioned hazmat routing? Should we ignore that and just drive where we want to?

And u can also lay blame on the protesters, they didn't need to be obstructing that particular interstate, should chose a less traveled street in the city.......people are actually working you know, it not just about their cause.......certainly didnt need to beat him or mob his truck

What are u talking about, im defending the drivers right to move and use the road that he did, everyone wants to pile on the driver yet blame is equally on the protesters for causing chaos.........i believe in personal responsibility, regardless what one is protesting for.....

I hate those "protest everything" types just as much as anyone else. You completely missed the entire point of my post. Yeah the clowns shouldn't have been there but what does being an ###hole and trying to mow down people for no reason accomplish? Especially when it could have easily been avoided.

Well i dont know, i wasn't there and dont pretend to know or judge the driver.....i don't know what I'd do if confronted with a mob suddenly on the highway........like most things, we think we know what we'd do until the moment actually arises.....lets not forget the police hadn't properly closed the highway so theres blame there as well......

All 3 parties share a portion of the blame, no denying that.

I find it interesting that the driver seems to be on the horn long before he's on the brakes.

However in this incident there’s plenty of blame to go around.
If the protesters actually had a permit to be there why wasn’t the highway sealed off properly to begin with?
Where was law enforcement to make sure traffic was detoured from that stretch of highway?
Why wasn’t the driver aware or made aware of any possible issues along his route?

There are a lot of questions but no definite answers other than what was shown on the surveillance cameras. Heck, I was in the Twin Cities region when all of this went down and us drivers were notified on the Qualcomm about the civil unrest and if we had any issues to call the police and/or the company if necessary.

So you're saying their crime is ok but his isn't. You can't have it both ways. What if he was hauling water to a nursing home fire. Or fuel for a plane that was transporting a heart transplant. No matter how you slice it. They should NOT have been on the interstate. Period.

I wish I could thank a post more than once!
That's exactly how I feel, the rioters have no way of knowing how important that highway is for the taxpayers who rely on it. The far reaching affects of their actions are impossible to quantify yet very much real. By allowing them to get away with this you are setting a precedent that laws and regulations are pointless and not to be adhered to. It leads to absolute chaos and that truck driver was just moments away from giving them the chaos they asked for.

    T.Rucker and JonJon78 Thank this.
