Trucker Facing Charges For Driving Into Protesters

I saw people walking across the highway crossing the barrier and walking up the entrance ramp without official hivis vests and uniforms all holding things other than traffic control wands to direct traffic. I don’t trust people enough to believe they are friendly and there for my safety while doing that.

And I don't see how some can think it's ok to commit assault just because they are slightly inconvenienced. Again, there is no way he was scared as there was plenty of space for him to stop and assess. He chose not to.

This doesn't absolve the protesters the responsibility of being there of course, but that's a separate issue. Here's a secret it seems way too many people can't handle. Both sides can be wrong!

 

I agree completely. Honestly, it's at moments like this where 1 person can make all the difference. In this case, unfortunately, it was the driver.

 

You mean the guy that got beat up, with people on his hood and trying to break the window?

 

So you think it's ok for protesters to block the interstate? People dont belong on the interstate.

 

You mean the person who assaulted a group with a deadly weapon and said group responded by stopping him? That person?

 

Why can't people get it that's a separate issue? What if if was a school bus blocking the road? Would the driver have been justified then?

 

The guys that say shutting down the interstate by pedestrians is ok will have milk and cookies and a smile waiting for them when the bad ones come up on their trucks step.

 

The driver has no right to blow through a crowd of non violent protesters assembled on a courthouse lawn or county park.
Blowing through a crowd of violent rioting criminals on the interstate to preserve ones life is a different argument.
People are confusing protesters and violent criminals. These are violent criminals in an unlawful assembly inflicting violence on anyone who is unwilling to conform with their views.

All the violent rioters need to do is obtain the proper permit to assemble peacefully and conduct themselves in a legal manner. They've proven time and time again for months now that they have a very specific agenda and the well being of the general public isn't a priority.
The truck had a permit to operate on that highway, can the mob say the same?
