    I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of Kalittas planes in DHL garb. They sponsor his drag racing operations. Kalitta is BIG! Big enough to fund 3 top fuel cars @ about $8 million dollars per year, per car.

    Yep, I worked on the tarmac for years. There are a lot more stupid looking accidents than you think but people who have done the job can understand. It's VERY noisy, everyone is wearing hearing protection so they can't hear anything even more, lots of lights and moving vehicles, planes, you name it. Airplane wings sneak up on you just as said above.

    I would be willing to bet the guy might've been taking pics or video though and was distracted.

    Same here. The one thing they emphasize on the ramp is always be aware of your surroundings especially if aircraft operations are involved.

    Back when I was delivering pizza we had a lot of orders from the local town airport. I would drive my car down the runway pretending I was about to take off.

    He might have been doing the same exact thing. Seeing how fast he could go because there is no speed limit sign on those things.
