Can someone recommend a trucker headset that has a big enough earcup to cover an average ear size? And/or has an earcup with noise cancelation technology?

I ordered a headset off of Amazon, and the earcup doesn't cover my entire ear. I thought the inner part of the earcup would cover my entire ear, and the cushion part being around my ear would help block out external noise. But the earcup sits on top of my ear, and is too small to cover it.

This blocks out more sound than an ear bud, but I still have to turn the volume up pretty loud to hear it.

My ear is average size, nothing huge. I don't know if most trucker headsets are like this...

Look at the Blue Parrots. I have the BT 450. I’m looking for another brand since the quality has gone downhill. But it’s a starter for you to look at.

Yea the blue parrot quality has gotten a hit bit and miss. Still a good mid range headset for the money though especially the 450s. And they DO honor the warranty. Had a brand new one crap out after 3 days and they shipped me a new headset no questions asked. That one lasted 4 years and my current one is 2 years old.

i have however, tried several other brands and models over the years. While some were better in many ways then the parrots they just didnt have the durability or paid in other ways. The parrots are still the best all round headset before you get into the $500+ range.

I was happy with my rands, but they are extremely delicate for the money. The plastic is brittle out of the box.

Happy with the anc and the mic quality of the first two pairs (im on my third in 8 years). I don’t know if it’s because I made the mistake of buying the “special” ones over plain grey as they didn’t have the basic ones. The most recent set I can’t seem to get the mic close enough for some to hear me.

Definitely not for small heads as I wear a large helmet /w thin pads and they are too big for me on the smallest setting. But the first two worked great I could hold a conversation with the window down on a straight piped truck.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I've heard mixed things on those brands, but I will look into them more and try to find the ones you all referenced.

I've gotten 5 years of reliable daily use from my Blue Parrot B250-XT+ that cost $120 before I retired a while back. The headset is still working I might use it once per month, now. It's at least 10 years old. The secret is don't wear it all day, every day just in-case you make a phone call. Leave it in the truck. It cuts down on losing it, also. I think the Blue Parrot B350 and higher are the models with over-the-ear speaker cups, which is more comfortable and better at hearing a conversation in the truck. I actually used my headset while wearing foam ear plugs and the audio volume was loud enough to have no problems.
