Definitely…whomever in the tx dps needs to fired for sure..also the company if they havent been nailed yet also needs to be dealt with.. accidents like these industry and very bad day this kind of crap needs to cease. I believe he went to driving school in Florida so I’m not sure if that’s a Florida drivers license he had or a Texas CDL as the company he was driving for was a Houston based flatbed co…

I wish this would get investigated. How does someone who doesn't comprehend English get a CDL? How many more like him are out here sharing the road with us?

Good, I’m glad they found him guilty. He made the choice not to use the runaway truck ramps. Common sense would say that a truck going down a mountain at 85mph or more is obviously unsafe. He didn’t think anything of it until it was too late. He should have made every effort to get that rig off the road IMMEDIATELY without harming anyone else which as we know is why there are runaway ramps.
It’s pretty clear the guy did not know how to drive, but ultimately he made the choice to drive a rig with questionable brakes. He wasn’t thinking about anyone else but himself, this whole tragedy could have been prevented but I bet he was only worried about making money. The fact that he closed his eyes and went straight into stopped traffic tells me he obviously didn’t care about anyone else. If he did, he would have used the runaway ramps.

I'm surprised it happened so quickly. As much as he deserves the book thrown at him, I think that everybody else, from the carrier who hired him to the DMV clerk who gave his license, they all should be sharing a cell with him.

although i get your sentiments, those others, were not behind the wheel.

an investigation needs to be done in how he did get his CDL, but unless some civils suits are filed against those others, i highly doubt anything will come of it.

I would guess so.. He had this lawyer that at the time was supposed to go to trial for kidnapping, I believe. That fella had some baggage of his own too
