Even back in the 80's. I had a pistol with me. In NJ back in 1986, had a guy break into my truck. I shot him and still feel, if I had not had the gun. He would have hurt me. The gun was a CO2 BB pistol. But would shoot through a 1/2" thick plywood at 30ft.
Not sure if it was legal back then to carry that toy in the truck. But never asked, and It rode million + miles with me. From the east coast to the west coast. Still have that told guy and I think I got it in 1975. These CO2 pistols may be a way to go for drivers today.

I forgot about the bb guns.

Co2 guns might be our best bet

IF your company was ok with it, that wouldnt matter. State law is what you got to concern yourself with. Until there is a federal law that trumps states gun laws you have to comply with each states laws, or risk going to the pen.NavigatorWife, brian991219 and C.S.T Thank this. -
Sure, technically it’s legal, if you have a New Jersey permit. But unless you’re personal friends with some higher up politicians, you ain’t getting one.NavigatorWife, poppapump1332, brian991219 and 2 others Thank this. -
NavigatorWife Thanks this.

That being said, I don’t know that I’d admit to it to Illinois law enforcement unless they specifically asked.C.S.T and CrappieJunkie Thank this.
