NO! NO! AND A THOUSAND TIMES NO! This has to be the biggest urban myth going around.

There is no federal law prohibiting a firearm in a commercial vehicle. There are local laws that dictate how you can do it, and I believe that most allow if it is unloaded and locked up.

A class IV laser will flash blind and most likely cause permanent vision loss. Not recommending it - just sayin....

In a pinch, I've considered keeping the Fire Extinguisher handy to blast someone in the face. This isn't something to take lightly because I think it can be suffocating.

So what you are guys are saying is when harassed by a cop and/or judge looking for an on-the-spot bribe to cover up nonexistent violations, the proper response is to shine a laser in their eyes and follow up with a fire extinguisher to the face while they are still stunned by their sudden loss of vision. Got it.

Nope. Uncle Sam does not prohibit weaponry in a Commerical Vehicle. What does happen is a variety of Title 930 and other rules that have been multiplied and copied over everything that remotely looks like, quacks like and behaves like a federal installation. You cannot carry a gun inside such a building. You still cannot carry a gun onto federal property in your car for a variety of specific reasons, one of which includes UAMS in Little Rock which has a sign every 2 to three acres prohibiting all weapons covering at least three acres around that sign. The parking garage in that area which is not far from the VA is covered by three of those kinds of prohibition signs. And is further exempted from newly signed laws allowing hospital, state capitol and stadium (More particularly church and college carry with no option of refusal provided that the person holds the new Enhanced carry license showing training with State police against terrorists and active shooters which will begin the 30th dec of this year)

If I had no reason to be barred from trucking medically etc and everything was valid as it was in 2013 I would be able to carry in a 18 wheeler my handgun and ammunition etc to certain states. Other states in some areas do not require a permit. Still more states are increasingly adopting what is called Consitutional Carry. One in particular Maryland is pretty nazi with it's extremely hostile behavior to may issue to anyone resident or non resident who dares apply for a permit to carry. If I drove my personal arkansas vehicle into Maryland on a designated federal or state route the cameras would have captured my vehicle, license plate and they will already know there is me, a gun carrier on the move inside the state. It wont take 10 minutes to make the traffic stop intercept.

EMPLOYERS in trucking bans guns most of the time. Increasingly employees simply carry and ignore the ban against carry by employers. Better in court than dead, so they say. Judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

At some point the laws will improve and support Truckers who wish to be able to carry without being prosecuted for such. In fact... RV Carry is being discussed in this current issue of Concealed Carry which is issued by USCCA (United States Concealed Carry Association) which is also a source of insurance, bond money, lawyer resources and all kinds of defenses and guidiance against prosecution in anything related to self defense. It's including words, shoving (Simple battery) fist fighting (Assault) knife work through guns and anything else that is used as a weapon in a self defense situation. You are covered provided you pay each month the insurance, for which there is a range of plans. For disclosure I am a premium plat member have been since day one which is probably approaching 8 years now. IF anything should happen related to self defense I can be reasonable assured that I can deploy the insurance and information availible to me for example bonding out of jail within 30 days which I consider valuable. And for every day I sit in court on trial, hearing etc it's about over 500 dollars cash for my trouble. That is just some of what is availible.

That is not all. Searcy Police managed or manages a program on Johnson Road north of Searcy at their Police range where once a month members of the public, particularly minor children with parents can show up and recieve what is essentially the same combat based training that the Searcy Police Department uses as a base of drill for handguns when a situation requires it. It's free. They do run you for warrants, wants etc. So if there is something hot going on don't show up. Call ahead first to HQ before going. And no you don't take a tractor up there, when it rains that road is a dangerous situation to be with a tractor due to flooding among other problems. Two bridges in particular have nothing to stop you from going downriver in high water. Sloop off you go. bye bye,

    Finally knifes.

Arkansas had Jim Crow laws since reconstruction around the 1870's regarding knifes. There were two kinds of knifes in that time period that are pretty famous, one is a Bowie type, the type used in Texas quite a bit and improved on. It is a knife in every way you can think of using it for any reason. There is another type of knife famed in Arkansas, we call those the Arkansas toothpick. It's about a foot long, a straight blade with two edges. Sometimes three so that no surgoen can ever sew the wound to heal again. It wil continue to lose fluid, body tissue and prone to infection for weeks should you survive the first strike of such a knife.

Around 2011 Arkansas has repealed many laws and for all in tents and purposes as long you are carrying lawfully without intent to commit a crime you can carry whatever blade you want. HOWEVER... just because you can carry a Katana that is like two feet long does not mean it's wise to do so. Courts have a way of taking people apart under questioning as to why you even carried that monster compared to a simple 3.00 folder availible anywhere and does the job just as well without terrorizing the poor granny grocery shopping.

When Obama was first elected prior to his taking office we purchased weapons plural that christmas eve in a major store that was then seriously packed with people buying guns wall to wall. It took about a 2 hour wait to have someone hand you the questionare that all FFL's issue prior to proceed, do not proceed and hold for weapons sales. It took about three more after it before it was approved and the transaction finished that night. almost 6 hours to complete several weapons purchasing. Later that year I was a new CHL holder of which at that time was around 48500 or so in our state. Now we stand at around 220,000 plus with new laws that have now the potential to add approx 200,000 more essentially instantly as soon they can pay the fees, attend the course, shoot the required rounds on targets and pass the background checks which are pretty extensive going back to childhood. Texas has over a million licensed carry. We probably will be at a half million in 5 years or less. A percentage of same will be trained against active shooters with guns in our schools around children using the Israeli model of active defense against anyone who tries to shoot up the place.

Back to trucking. If there is a large percentage of all trucks that use the OTTO Model of self control delivering loads and picking up same without any humans needed for trucking anymore... you can pretty much assume that the Legislatures will repeal whatever laws passed now and in the new future that are firendly towards human truckers. When it is understood that there are no more human truckers in harms way and no need for guns inside a OTTO Truck... over a couple million around the USA on any given day... there might even be a oppositie action in which guns are legislated away from 18 wheelers in particular all over again. Poof. No more guns Don't need em.

Some of you might think I am nuts. But when I have offered a sitaution in which there is a pro or a con... I can try to see both sides of a coin at the same time now and in the future. I think it is wonderful the United States is experience a sort of increase in our freedoms and ability to exercise same as it should be.

Only to see it go away when Humans no longer go out of the home to get shopping done, which is now delivered to human at home on demand by machines. Robots would have their own methods of defense against any thuggie too stupid to comprehend that there is nothing to gain from holding up a box filled with chips that have no feelings whatsovever. Or even the funds that could be transferred to the thuggie. Or even the cargo itself. What are you gonna do with 50,000 bottles of beer, most of which is going to go bad in a few weeks time? Most apartments and homes do not have the square footage needed to maintain such a large amount of beer to a temperature required by same. And even if you could maintain cold storage your bills of utilities will consume you anyhow. Prior to your incarceration for the crime committed when you boosted the truckload by force.

In fact Robots and Ottos would be converted to a tax paying, nation supporting machine citizen. Eventually there will be more robots than people and humans will have to be issued a basic living wage to be able to do something with their now worthless day and night which no longer has any value to the Nation unless you are a robot repair man on call 24/7 to fix it.

Such funding would likely be in a form that cannot be transferred without state oversight between people so being a thug to try and rob another citizen, human or robot is futile.

Exactly. Except for the fire extinguisher. After you've blinded them, you work them over with your tire thumper, pull their nipples through gladhand seals and secure them with zip ties, dress them up like Sailor Moon, and drop them in Memphis. Unless they make you mad; then the gloves come off.

I'm licensed in my state, and it carries over to several states. My mindset has always been on
protecting me first.I don't let ANYONE know what I may,or may not have on me.
Its not bravado,or anything other than staying away from victim status.
Guns aren't allowed by some companies, establishments, states, but I'm not asking.
    My life,my choice! :D

There is also one additional problem. Assuming it's output is green, the chance of a fire generated by even a moment's burn of such a IV laser is not worth the risk to me. I stay with the older III Reds That way if something tripped em it would not be a fire emergency.

Ive had people shine laser into my cab at night, the last time a car did that in east indy I had committed the tractor to taking the car out with my outer drives and some power applied to make it happen. They had two problems. First I was not a governed truck and stayed with them as their laughing turned to begging me to leave em alone please just teasing.,.. That saved them. The honesty in the entreaties of the voices.
