I agree with everyone's comments but take a closer look at the pictures. I don't see much in the way of tire ruts behind the truck and it should look like a plowed field. An escape ramp that's more of a dirt road than deep, loose gravel doesn't create much drag. He may not have been going as fast as it appears.

Prime made it up there pretty far too, 512EBD8A-06C9-4124-B1A3-7EDB4E5974AE.jpeg
Maybe since they had the room they designed it to stop a truck gradually rather than having the freight bust through the front of the trailer from a quick stop.

At least the Martin drive didn’t jump out and let the truck go off the side of the road

i'm thinking that's what happened, minus the pat on the back, at least from the company.

True, but look at the picture of the Prime truck that Tucker posted. Big difference between tracks and ruts.

It's a very steep uphill ramp.

I thought those things were built as a gradual wedge and filled with pebble stones so you gradually sink into them as you move forward. Rips the underside of your truck real good but it works. I figured they would be buried deeper than they appear. An old driver once told me when I was new if I ever have to use one of those....make sure your seat belt is on good and snug you are going for a ride..

At least the trucks kept up right and straight. Everybody walked away. It's not pretty, but it could have been a lot worse.
