How about we condemn the trucker, if you're asked to leave and return, it's all on you. It's too bad this guy picked a bad day to be stupid.

How bout we not act like ignorant high school kids and jump to conclusion and pass judgmentment based on the most minimal facts possible made available from 3 paragraphs on a news site.

And I'm not talking to you specifically shotyme. I criticize myself here too. I've been talking ##### based on a bunch of trucker talk. A fool i have been.

So put your own families life at the business end of a gun and it's not so black and white anymore.

You can translate the description of one's child's as being a toddler, and I must agree that translation is not what I would categorize as intelligent (I'm guessing many people have children that are older than 3 years old, I could be wrong but...). But how can my comment be added in the category of stupid. Is this truckon's forum? Does truckon determine the validity of a debate or an opinion? A comment maybe classified as stupid if truckon doesn't like it?

If you are a mod (don't see ya on the mod list) then you should act in accordance with your responsibilities to "the people", and not criticize and belittle people. Should act like a role model, should be someone to lead by example, should be someone who is looked up to. Not someone who attempts to makes his people feel stupid, literally.

If you are not a mod then why do you choose to scold me as tho I am your lesser, In this and other threads. If you disagree with me, it is your right to offer an alternative opinion.

You offend me and a number of other people on this forum with they way you talk to people. No one wants to make a stink about it for some reason. But because you speak to me as tho you are in a position of "authority" on this forum. I do choose to challenge you.

I absolutely believe in a hierarchy and authorities, but when the ones in charge are the ones that need to be controlled, something is wrong.

    Edit: addition

If your are a mod here truckon, and allowed to 'police' your territories in this manner, perhaps this is not a forum I should be a member of. If you are not a mod, just another unhappy and sometimes unfriendly person, I shall from here on out just ignore your comment's.

My apologies to other forum members for the disruption.

My apologies that I offended you, my blunt straight forward way has been known to in the past, and I'm sure it will in the future. Don't take it personally.

This is a family friendly trucking forum, it's my opinion (and many others) that it's stupid to be bringing the subject shooting of people's loved ones into any thread on here. There is an unmoderated section and I'm sure many would like appreciate if such discussions took place there.

This (Security Guard) lied on his application for employment, didn't have the correct permit to carry a firearm on this job! But, putting those things aside, if he felt like he Needed to stop this driver, He could have shot him in the leg or foot, or if he was allowed to carry a gun, surely he was allowed to carry a tazer. This all shows me that he didn't have permission to be ARMED. I think this (Security Guard) wanted to act like a Police Officer. Maybe the trucker was aggrevated, maybe he was acting angry. Point is HE WAS UNARMED!!! A shot to the foot or leg would have stopped him! Then he could have called the real police and let them take over.

Nonsense. AGAIN, It makes no difference whether he was armed on the job or not because he was in posession of the gun itself legally being armed on that job is simply a work rules violation. When you carry for self defense you NEVER EVER EVER aim for an arm or foot! Aside from the very obvious fact for anybody that actually carries arms and feet are not only small but in motion when an attacker is closing in on you. Which makes the shot much more difficult which if you miss not only could it cost YOU your life it could also injure a bystander, bullets dont say "oops I missed" and simple stop! Also in the eyes of the court an arm or leg shot can be considered a "warning" shot and a prosecutor could argue that if you were in true fear of your life that would not have been the shot you Should have taken making it a homicide. Any lawyer will tell you the same.

Not sure where you found this bit of information from the news stories linked so far in this thread. Did you read another article not yet posted and can you provide a link? From my understanding by their state laws each time you get hired as a security guard you have to retake a course in use of a gun and apply for the permit. It is the company's responsibility to make sure that everything is taken care of, and according to the articles I read the security guard had the understanding that his permit was processed. This was at least his third job as a security guard, each time retaking the course and going through the process. Again, if you have other information I'd be interested to read it.
