Trucker shot in traffic stop

I should have been clearer. Restrictions in the business district of municipalities, statewide maybe? This is what I was told by the officer, a Sergeant who wrote the citation. I just paid it off and assumed he knows the law. I suspect they do generate a lot of revenue this way.

 

Wow I too have never heard of that in PA.
I take a trailer home sometimes and never said anything to me about it. I live right in a little town.

 

Why don't you go take a swing at a cop with a hammer and then get back to us how it went.

 

I live in PA, and my employer is a PA based interstate carrier operating since the 1920s. We pull 53' trailers, and I think they know the PA laws.

See my earlier post that quoted an informed PA native regarding the intelligence level of local LEOs. Make them show you the Federal regulation, PA state statute or local ordinance in writing. If they're particularly obstinate, don't argue. Let them write the citation, then hire an attorney to make them look foolish in front of the judge.

Oh well, it's paid and now it will go away. I don't get wrapped around issues like this. Life is short and the time I have left is precious. I don't spend time or energy on anything not worthy, and this doesn't justify a brawl . I'm not wealthy, but I don't think I'll miss the 150. 00. And as you know, you can't take it with you. It's just not a big fat deal to me.

 

Here's a clearer spin of what supposedly happened. I've found numerous articles about the incident, but they all still leave more questions than answers (unless you're willing to believe LE hook, line, and sinker, of course). I've seen too many dash cam/ other video to fall for one side of the story. At least with this article, it paints some kind of picture other than "trucker goes nuts, cop shoots him". I still say this trucker must be superman, though, either that or the officer missed with the taser, and that pepper spray and hammer were peculiarly easy to get to. If what happened, according to this article, did indeed happen, he should have been shot before turning with the hammer, never mind actually using it (or the pepper spray).

And of course they've decided to press the attempted homicide charge, along with four counts of aggravated assault (have to throw enough doo doo at the wall to see how much will stick, right?). I count two (pepper spray and hammer).

 

I must admit . I am gonna check this truck out a bit more today , I am only 60 miles away from there right now.

 

Don't piss off the LEO's in that area.

 

For one thing, this article said he had no front bumper.
