Trucker to trucker advise

now I'm going to write about a rather sore subject with me and yeah i no a lot are going to disagree with me if you do just look in the mirror and think you might change your mind .

I've noticed over the years that big brother has got this entire industry so tore up that about every driver out here is afraid to even do his job a job that most of you love to do yet your afraid to do it , your afraid to look in the mirror because your afraid your going to see a cop in the mirror which i think is sad.

since when are grown men afraid of a cop i think what most of you fail to realize is that the cop all of them pull there pants on one leg at a time just like you do there not the boogie man for real there just cops thats all o a lot of them talk the talk and walk the walk but when it comes down to it there just cops, it's called intimidation and they use it well and apparently it works well everybody seems to be scared to death of them. all he can really do is take your money and that my Friends is there job there only job and there taught how to do it rather well.

now everyone complains about the trucking business but the sad thing is WE make the business what it is and it's getting worse because we are letting it we are afraid to say anything let alone do anything about it and it's not true that you can't do anything you just have to want to do something that #### cop is not going to bite you he ain't got enough nerve to do that, you just have to stand up for yourself not a big thing .

hell we can't even offer help to one another without fear of a cop sticking his #### nose where it doesn't belong now that is sad.well it doesn't work here and if i can stand up any of you can you just wont. where all this fear comes
from i haven't a clue it sure was a long way from when i started we weren't afraid of a #### thing but times have changed.

but one thing has not changed you guys are still grown men and it's just plain wrong for you to let anyone intimidate you or cause you to be afraid of your job that is the thing they do it because you let them do it and that is just plain wrong.

we need to take this business back one driver at a time bring it back to the proud profession it used to be , i remember when nobody turned there nose up at us and no one was afraid to ask a driver for help, or for something to eat sure can't do it now , does anyone like the way it is now i kinda doubt it . but we can complain about and moan and grown and cry woe is me BUT when are we going to do something about it , i think it's about time , don't you.

now this is a subject that most of us are widely misinformed about and you can be sure i will never Post on a subject unless i no something about it , i don't pay any attention to rumorers or truck stop lawyers if i post it you can take it to the bank it is a fact not a rumor.

now as far as a cop is concerned, a cop is a cop is a cop i don't care if he is a city cop, a state cop or a federal cop he is in fact a cop they all have an academy that they have to go Thur to be certified before they can be a cop in the first place in all states except Texas, in Texas they are licensed peace officers and as a matter of fact they have no jurisdiction they are licensed for the state the entire state unlike the rest of the country who has jurisdictional limits , but the y all have one thing in common, THEY ALL HAVE TO OBEY THE LAW just like you the driver, why we all seems to be afraid of a cop i have no idea but it seems we are.

now does a cop have the right to pull you over? you bet he has that right all cops have the right to pull you over if he thinks there is something wrong with your vehicle regarding a safety issue consider it done most do not but they can at will.

i had a driver inform me that the DOT did not have the authority to pull you over for no reason.WRONG the dot is a different kind of cop although he is still very much a cop he is still a cop that enforces CMV laws and there not the same as a car different laws apply and it would not be a good idea to tell him he can't pull you over you will get an unpleasant surprise. his job is in fact commercial vehicles and he does in fact have authority.

a deputy sheriff now he is a good example of why people are afraid of cops they are real big on intimidation they seem to think you have to be afraid of them before they can do there job is it right , not to me but that is decided by the sheriff of the county not a good idea to give them a hard time but they don't normally stop cmv's but they can if they choose.

the highway patrol , now this is another kind of cop and in my state probably the most respected why because he acts like a pro he dresses like a pro but make no mistake he is in fact still a cop, his job is for the most part traffic enforcement and accidents now they don't give many warnings when they stop you it is for a reason but normally the don't mess with trucks but if they catch you busting the speed limit o they will.

now everybody's friend THE DOT not. now i think by now everybody knows what i think of the dot but let me make it clear it is not the officer that you meat at roadside or the chicken house that i am against it's the dot in Washington that i don't have any use for the idiots that make all these stupid rules and regulations that insist on treating grown men like kindergarten graduates there is a big difference.
the dot cop on the highway or at the chicken house is enforcement that is his job and although we might not like it he does not make the law he in fact enforces the law and if he doesn't he could go to j
ail himself or at least get fired he has no choice.

but he does have full authority under the law and for some of you Rambo's out there here is some news for you he does not get payed to take your abuse or your mouth and he doesn't have to you can in fact talk yourself to jail and that is a fact.

THE FBI NOW these guys are federal and it's a much bigger outfit then you might imagine they have a field office in every major city in the country and then some but they investigate federal crimes now you will probably never see one unless your truck is high jacked then they come out of the wood work but normally you never see them and if you do you wont no it .

THE US MARSHAL SERVICE now i have been in many a argument over this subject most have no idea what they do or what they can do well here is a clue they do not regulate trucks, in fact they have absolutely nothing to do with a truck so don't call them if your lumper try's to charge you to much if you do your going to get an unpleasant surprise they have nothing to do with lumper's or grocery warehouses and such their job for the most part is fugitives and white color crime NOT TRUCKS.

now most cops not all are pro's at there job and they act like it with the exception of GA , ARK, AND TENN in those places anything goes but all cops are not payed to take your abuse and most wont you would do well to remember you can talk yourself into jail.

now i no there will be some that have an issue with what i have said here but consider this i have in fact 1400 hrs of crimonal justice training and a coupled of years on the street didn't like the way the powers that be do things so i back where i belong.

you do not have to be afraid of a cop or the laws that he enforces thats why they make judges and it is your wright to use that judge do so , all cops are not bad just as all cops are not good it is never hard to find a prick no matter where you go.

now Ive been out here a long time from the sound of things to long but i have never heard so many drivers whining over so many different things, they don't like cats in a truck, they don't like dogs in a truck, they don't like smoking in a truck they don't like a truck to idle it makes to much noise, they don't like the noise an air dryer makes,they don't like to many lites on a truck,they don't like large cars, they don't like trucks that go fast, they don't like trucks that go to slow, they don't like to stop and help another driver , there afraid , poor baby's, and there is much more .

is there anything that a driver to day does like ? i wonder all you here anymore is crying and whinning , what the hell ever happened to all the men that use to drive a #### truck did they all die am i the only one left am i really that #### old , hell i don't feel that old maybe im doing it wrong .
now i don't bother any one i don't complain much bout the only thing that will get me riled up is a bible thumper or a tobacco thumper i don't won't to hear it and by god im not you want to believe everything you hear on tv thats your problem but to bring it around me it will get you jap slapped in a hurry and you can call a cop and whine about it i got the money to pay the fine but it wont take away the pain.

what the hell ever happened to taking care of busines and minding your own #### business guess that fell by the way side to and we wonder why we got all these new regulations well kids have to be monitered now your going to be big time its your fault and now your whinning about that , well you usally get what you ask for in one way or the other, ENJOY.
