Big money and it only lasts a few months.
I don’t blame him. taking your retirement in small chunks while you’re still young and healthy enough to enjoy it. Ain’t nothing wrong with that .

I make almost double the average wage for a truck driver and so do the guys I work with. Yet I have 60+ year old coworkers that have to drain their retirement just to move across the country.
