That's GREAT advice!! When I quit, I used the gum for a few months - sure helped a LOT!!!

Biggest part of the above advice is YOU and only YOU must WANT to quit. It's hard to do (though easier and easier as they ban smoking everywhere!!!) but if YOU really want it, you can do it!!

Congrats, both of you, on quitting!! Well done!!

  6. Hi Myminpins..................I quit

  7. Hi Myminpins..................I quit at 4am on March 20th 1990, getting up for work to drive City Bus and Special Transit , I did not reach for a cig when getting out of bed , I wiped the sandman from my eyes FIRST instead of lighting up a GOV controlled substance (quite a racket going on there) and it was 3 days of HE** in the rain , wearing shades and my cap pulled down on my ears (looked like the flying nun) and have never looked back until a yr later had a puff or two and puked black spots in my stomach bile....................and have never had one since, do my best to avoid other's smoke..................very addictive additives in cigs.

Awhile back I was playing a game of cards at a local bar and the guy next to me asked if I mind him smoking , I said : not right now it does bother me, go ahead lite up ................he did and it was a roll your own from a tobacco bag and it did not stink or the smoke did not linger. HMMMM?

I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. When I don't smoke, I'm allergic to it! I quit in 1998.

You're not allowed to smoke anywhere here in any public buildings any more, including pubs, etc., so I don't run into the smell any more except when walking into buildings and the crowd is off to the side smoking.

It was about six years before I NEVER craved them any more, though. Very addictive things, they are.

I had quit once before for about six years then started up again but I'd never start again now, especially with the price of them being over $8.00 a pack!! Who can afford it? LOL

I hate them now. Dirty, disgusting things.

    Congrats!
