Trucker's 14-hour sit-in protest at police corruption

A MEXICAN trucker staged a 14-hour sit-in protest after police tried to make him pay a bribe for driving through a red traffic light, rather than impose a smaller official fine.

Jesus Martinez said police tried to extort £400 from him after he drove through a red light in the early hours in Monterrey - the official fine is £20.
