What's wrong with his attitude? I only sensed burnout from the local thing. I can somewhat relate to that. It's kind of weird but I'm not a fan of local jobs. I may be the outlier that prefers OTR over local/regional jobs. Too much routine for liking with local gigs.

Anyway @Unblblblbl apply to all of those companies that you listed. See what you can come up with. Davis advertises 65k, but they don't exactly go all over the country. You'll have to understand that if you OTR, it will be a bit of a pay cut. It isn't as physical as food service jobs. You're tasks are mostly centered around driving when doing OTR with a reputable company. To make your best money out of Florida, you'll need to find a reefer company that covers at least ½ of the continental 48. Maybe look into Sunstate Carriers out of Tampa

I live in Palm Springs Ca. area. We get the snowbirds around Nov 1 until April. Our speed limits in town are 50 mph. What do they drive ? 30 at best ! Yes they bring $$$ to the local economy. Florida , hey you get snowbirds too, right ?

Running Reefer, dealing with Shippers and especially Receivers is very aggravating. Lot of wasted time dealing with Idiots.

I didn't say his attitude was wrong. He said he's burning out. Burnout is a psychological state, like gratitude or ambition. You can pick another psychological state. The OP was saying he has reached burnout, as I did. Changing your attitude is easier than changing jobs, fixing traffic, etc.

It’s not a snowbird issue in Florida anymore, it’s a year round problem. I’m a lifelong resident, the change that has taken place down here can’t be written off as a seasonal issue, a year or so out from covid everything changed.

He meant changing the perspective of things. Simplify things…
    1. Crappy traffic. Check
    2. $90k and a home life. Check.

“Driver, would you be interested in a job where we pay you $90000/ year to play in traffic?”

$90 to play in traffic… what’s the catch?

    “Well, it’s stressful. Extremely stressful.”

If you're 12 years in at a company, you've probably accrued some decent vacation time and seniority if the company rewards that kind of thing.

Trust me, the grass isn't always greener.

I agree with @tscottme it does come down to perspective and your approach, I’ve thought about it for a while and can’t bring myself to find peace with the over population that is occurring down here and the demeanor of the people that are flocking to this state. This is simply my point of view, you couldn’t pay me enough money to endure the stress of central and south Florida on a daily basis. Hopefully the OP finds what he’s looking for. I know from the outside looking in, guys like us probably sound whiny, but for me the change is tough and the population growth is overwhelming.

It's all up to the individual. Home every day was never enough incentive for me to take a local job, no matter the pay. I preferred being out three weeks and home one. Covering as many states as possible every month. Ok, I admit, I got to the point where I had to add, "excluding anywhere east of I77 or any state with a Pacific coast" as I just got tired of the constant BS in those parts of the country. Not that I couldn't handle the crowding and attitudes, I just got tired of dealing with it and no amount of money is worth my peace of mind.
My point is though, not everyone is looking for home daily. Not everyone counts their degree of wealth by how many dollars they can amass.
