Truckers GPS?

Does not seem to matter which GPS you buy.
You will be lucky if it lasts a year. I'm getting very tired of the costs to replace them.

 

Any GPS will have you in with the masses trying to go somewhere. you will be stuck like chuck in a quagmire of traffic. you will need to get off the interstate and take the city streets to go anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. Don't bother with a GPS on SO Cal.

 

Ya no dout, same with smart phones, about 3 years on both and had to replace phone; now GPS.

 

I don't think gps's like Cali much. It's the only state I've had problems.

 

I went with the new Rand and it is a piece of crap...the 8pro that is. It sucks, I mean it really sucks, don't waste your money on the newest Rand...

 

Well maybe GPS for trucks are becoming obsolete.
We have many options on APP markets can not remember the good one that was recommended. I just do no like using extra data for such purposes.
And quite frankly all the charge ports we need now for everyday trucking is really starting to bug the #### out of me. Along with all thr gizmos.

GPS Alternative

 

The only 2 I"m aware of are copilot and sygic. Both full fledged maps downloaded to device. No internet required except for traffic. Copilot is really nice when truck parameters are set. Wish i had input on sygic but no need to local work.

 

I’ve been using CoPilot on an iPad, and ALK (the company making it) is based in the UK, and they are truly clueless about time zones and the need for U.S. truckers to stay on terminal time.

And I think, NONE of the units indicate the time zone of any indicated time. Leads to a lot of confusion.

Hoping to get on with Fedex and bounce back and forth between two terminals, each in the same time zone.

 

I just use common sense and Google maps navigation. 3 months no issues
