Nacogdoches, Texas and Natchitoches, Louisiana are technically sister cities. Founded by twin Caddo Indian brothers of the same names.

Nacogdoches is famous for being the oldest settled town in Texas and technically, where the first shots of rebellion against Mexico were fired. The Texans began the uprising that became the fight for the Republic of Texas in Nacogdoches.
