Truckers path update wants location "all the time" now?

Yup. The CCP is stepping up their game.

 

I'll delete it if they force that nonsense but I just double checked it on my phone and permission is denied for location access. It also didn't even ask for my data. Maybe check your permission settings in your phone.

 

Just checked mine and it still works like normal and I only allow location while using the app

 

It’s become useless for scales. I swear the DOT must be calling them closed, when open. It’s happened a few times lately.

 

Wouldn't surprise me if fellow drivers were even marking it closed when it's open. No respect amongst each other anymore

 

I deleted that app long ago. I used it for the scales only, but you have to rely on others that’s using that app. Most are not aware and the accuracy of checking for the scales whether open or close where hardly accurate. Then with there updates, they wanted more 411, so I just deleted that app.

 

I still find it useful. I don't need to know whether a scale is open or closed until I get there, what I like to do is plan where they are ahead and be ready. I use it for rest areas too. For that reason alone it's better than nothing. All of the rest area finder apps suck.

I do not like it constantly trying to peddle me navigation services.

 

I really only use it for truck parking locations

 

Apps gone downhill drastically since it was sold. Shame that despite that it's still the best app out there, even if just for seeing what rest areas and truck stops are along your route.

 

I haven’t updated that app in a looong time. If it stops working because of that then I’ll just delete it.
