I ain't gonna bother but for sure not one truck driver will answer number 1 as getting fat as a walrus before winter.
snowlauncher, lovesthedrive and KillingTime Thank this. -
I know I do. It's easier to make money with $4.50/gallon fuel than it is with $2.50/gallon fuel.

1. Odd sleep/work schedule
2. Lack of respect from anyone outside the industry
3. Traffic
4. Low pay for newbies and most general freight OTR drivers
5. Lack of respect amongst fellow drivers.Rideandrepair, cybill234, Heathar and 1 other person Thank this. -

1) Pointless and redundant government regulations.
2) Keeping the emissions system functioning enough to avoid limp mode.
3) finding places that stock repair parts (many businesses have left Kalifornia and the ones who remain are afraid to keep much inventory on hand)
4) Roads so rough they destroy truck and trailer components well before they should fail.
5) The damaged tendon in my right arm that won't heal.
4 out of 5 are caused by the government, thanks for asking that question so I was motivated to think about it.

1. I'll reiterate:
2. I'll reiterate:3. The absolute lack of 'a Life' even if you're a local guy. Oh, the gov says you can work 70hrs a week? We'll get you close! Probably even put you over with that sweet lil diddy known as the 'short haul exemption'!
4. Being treated as if you're expendable.... wait, that's basically the same as #2.
5. Many of the roads I travel do utterly blow. Maine is an excise tax state upon vehicular registrations.... Where's that money going? Sure as #### isn't to the guy in the hole while his 7 other DOT buddies 'supervise' his efforts....Last edited: Apr 14, 2017
