How can rates be the problem? They are currently as high as they’ve ever been due to high demand and constrained capacity. It’s an open, free & competitive market that sets rate which is clearly a “carrier market” imbalance to your favor in today’s environment. I know many, many carriers that have an extremely attractive P & L as I’ve seen them firsthand. And, I suspect that new technology platforms will help reduce brokerage costs to carriers or they wouldn’t be investing hundreds of millions in platforms that don’t make it cheaper, better and faster.
I also realize from a company driver’s perspective, wages are still a point of contention because they haven’t kept up with the cost of living and inflation over the past 30 years and that’s a different discussion. But, the reality is that some carriers have made dramatic improvements in bridging that gap and those are the carriers that I would hang my hat with. The bottom line is that no carrier wants a bunch of empty trucks at their terminals and because of that - the best drivers with experience that present themselves well as a dedicated, sharp, clean cut professional have the advantage with carriers who need to keep trucks moving and corporate profits flowing. -
Was referring nvto freight rates from an O/O perspective
