Truckers with ADD and take meds

I formerly took adderall. Declared on physicals and had no problems. 1 time I got randomed and tested positive. The medical review officer for my company at the time called I told him what I was taking and my prescription number off the bottle. Never heard back from him again. Since then I took myself off adderall only because I could deal without it. I was diagnosed when I was about 30 y/o. I figured I lived with it for 30 years and didn't know I had it so why try to treat it.

 

Why not go above the boards. Those that have told you to hide just do not know the regulations. It just boils down to if you like your job? If you test positive and have not told anyone then you just might not ever drive again. The DOT doesn't put many restrictions on prescibed drugs. If your doctor has approved you then it's ok by them. It's the company and their insurance company that puts the most restrictions on. If I were you I'd find out if someone else has this problem with the company you drive for. I know it's almost impossible to find out but that would be helpful. You need to do something quick so if you are tested and come back positive you'll be covered. At least get a letter from your doctor if you can, although it's not required.

 

You know how the government works. They get rid of the worst, then the next worse, then it's the one you didn't think would warrant the ban. IOW, give it time.
