Found a link that might help you plan http://www.dmqis.com/Canada.html
I would double check everything with each province especially if you are over 244'' the other thing is the national saftey council , you might have to get a rating with them and you are aware our roads up here are 2 lane goat trails??? for the most part.:biggrin_25515: and fuel is real expensive in comparrison

If you go to Anchorage, you watch out for the Great American Bush Company. You may never want to leave.

Alaska, the land of the Midnight Sun, if you do not like the weather Wait 10 min and it will change. Beautiful sights to be seen. I been there, also to Juno, Ketchacan, Kodiak, Adak, Kiska, and Dutch Harbor. Most you would not be able to go in your Truck though.

Aug or Sept? are you sure then? Carry your snow chains then.

SPREAD AXLE; To the best of my knowledge and research, running a US style 10' 1" spread is totaly legal thru anywhere in Canada. That said, the options are to pay for and overweight permit....or....run the 20,000 pound max limit on the trailer, which is the direction I"m leaning to at this point. My bigggest question at this point is simpley the cost and or hassle of obtaining trip permits thru the various provinces that I"m not registered to run. I'd like to know if it"s as simple as paying at each POE.or what..

I called OOIDA, but they don't do temp permits. They directed me to a permit service they recommend, which was also useless. Called a few more "dotcomdata" type services...all useless. So, any one stop shopping for temporary Canadian permits either doesnt exist, or googling 6 ways from sunday doesnt list any who may. Sooooo, I break out the handy largecar Rand Mcnally and lookup the transportation ministries numbers for every province, and start calling. 4 western provinces, plus Alaska, will run about (aboot in Canadian speak LOL) a cool grand. Some are one way permits, others 30 day. Every transportation ministry represenative I spoke with in the 4 western provinces, were all quite helpfull and answered everything thoroughly. Nice folks!

Most member here already know this, but to end any possible speculation on the legalities of running a 10' 1" spread thru SK, AB, BC, and Yk....it's totaly legal, but limited to 9100 kilos/20,000 pounds total on the trailer. The Yukon treats a 10 1 the same as a closed tandem weight wise - 17,000 Kilos/ 37,500 pounds. That is straight from the scale master I talked to in Whitehorse. Kind of irellevent tho, since you cant get there that heavy going thru AB/BC. Manitoba and east I never called.

Alaska is the most expensive, surprisingly to me, at $360.00 for a 30 day.
