But you do need a person to walk into an office and smell the BS.

You really think the carrier in the OP hasn't at least passed his new entry audit?

I know what an audit looks like. What I'm saying is the audits don't go far enough as it is, and cutting staff is going to decrease the already lax enforcement .

"FMCSA needs to do more enforcement "

"FMCSA needs to have its budget cut"

Those are contradicting statements. If you want to say FMCSA needs to spend more of its budget on enforcement and less on PR stunts like having drivers ride with officers for a day - that's valid. If you back it up with authentic numbers. AI slop doesn't cut it.

My new entrant audit was done by a Florida State Trooper after about 6 months of operation. All communication was done via phone and computer. I’m guessing this is how it’s done in every state.

One company I worked for as a W-2 company driver used to get the fmcsa in person to do the audits (they had 2 companies same location..Milk and Meat division) They came in person because both carrier scores were lousy.

Don’t know how much the fmcsa gets involved now since it’s been more than a few years since I worked there.

Most of my inspections are flagged by fmcsa and I will get inspected when I cross a scale and they are available to do one. Kind of blows because if I get one inspection then I’m likely to get another one or two by the time the first inspection updates with the fmcsa.

I have a good record so they don’t bother me much and I don’t give them any reason to pull me around back.

So a person walking into the office can smell somethings off? What a joke.

You keep showing how little you know. You know nothing on what is required and how it verified, Very big difference between a new entry audit and a compliance review.

Your answer is just to increase the workforce thinking that will fix everything.
